“my greatest goal has always been to make my parents, proud, especially in light of the sacrifices they’ve made so I could pursue the education I dreamed of. For the past three years, they’ve worked tirelessly to ensure I could focus fully on my studies. Receiving the scholarship is one way I can get back. When we got the news, they were over joyed. My dad was especially moved to know that his service continues to support our family and such a meaningful way, even years after retiring.”

Liz 2025 Wings Over America Scholarship Recipient

“I am extremely honored and excited to receive the Wings Over America scholarship for the 2025/2026 school year. Receiving the scholarship will allow me to focus more on my schoolwork than having to be concerned about making the money to pay for school. I also find it very affirming to receive this award, which is based partially on my scholastic ability. This award has also boosted my confidence and is encouraging me to continue reaching my goals. My goals include completing this bachelor’s degree in Family and Gerontology studies in May 2026, and then continuing on for my master’s degree in counseling. This will allow me to move forward with licensure as a counselor, which is my end goal. Another goal that I have is to publish a book to help others. My husband proudly served in VP-4 and VP-24 [Maritime Patrol] squadrons and searved for a total of 22 ½ years in the US Navy, and is now retired as Chief Petty Officer. He is also blessed by the scholarship. He loved his time in aviation in the US Navy and the scholarship continues to affirm his time there. Thank you again for this incredible gift of the $5000…

Alicia 2025 Anchor Scholarship Foundation Recipient

“I felt such joy when I read the email that I have been chosen as an Anchor Scholar. What a blessing! What a privilege! I graduated with my bachelor’s degree in psychology thirty years ago, and I now get to see my master’s in counseling coming to fruition. This scholarship is a gateway to my dreams being fulfilled. When I was a new Navy wife, my husband and I had the opportunity to attend a ship’s christening in San Diego. When I saw the ship’s sponsor crash the glass against the bow, I excitedly told my husband, “I want to do that!” As a young E-5, he chuckled, assuring me he would never be a rank that would give me that chance. We have laughed about that exchange over the years. You can imagine my delight when I read that my scholarship is sponsored by the Society of Sponsors of the U.S. Navy. I felt such a connection to that experience I observed over 20 years ago, and now I am the recipient of the generosity of these amazing women. I am truly thankful to the Society of Sponsors and the Anchor Scholarship Foundation.” About The Anchor Scholarship Foundation: Anchor…
