The Somerset's namesake recognizes the heroic actions of the 40 passengers and crew of United Airlines Flight 93 on Sept. 11, 2001 who sacrificed their lives to thwart a terrorist attack bringing down their would be hijackers and plane in a field in Somerset County, Pa. saving countless innocent lives in the process.
